I was talking to a friend yesterday, and some interesting themes emerged during our conversation, which I will mull over in the coming weeks. But, one thing that came to me as a micro-epiphany is having close friends makes a huge difference, however infrequently you speak to them because their existence reassures you that you deserve love and friendship. It is easy to see loneliness as the result of a character flaw rather than a mix of personality and circumstances. We cannot always change our circumstances, but we can always change the stories we spin from them.
