Sense of Humour

It is a cliche that a person's sense of humour is one of their most attractive or repellent features. But, like most cliches, there is more than a grain of truth in it. It is difficult to be close friends with someone if your sense of humours don't resonate. You might individually have perfectly decent SoHs, but if they don't click, it can cause a commotion. Especially, if you have a wicked SoH and your no-go areas (everyone has them) don't match. Our SoHs say so much about how we view life and leaven it. The (at least temporary) antidote to despair and depression. But humour is not just a survival mechanism, although in these dark times it is increasingly being used as one. Humour is a way of expressing ourselves, our individuality. It is a way of showing trust in someone as we can only be funny around people we are comfortable with.
